PTI Senior Vice President Dr Shireen Mazari was detained on Friday in a dawn raid at her home in the federal capital, continuing the police crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders.
In the early hours of Friday, the Islamabad police allegedly conducted a raid on her home. Asad Umar, Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, Imran Khan, Asad Chaudhry, Fawad Chaudhry, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and Ali Mohammad Khan were all detained prior to her arrest.
Other than Imran Khan, all of these leaders were detained in accordance with MPO Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order Act.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid, a former health minister for Punjab, has reportedly also been detained, according to a PTI statement.
