‘Shifting of district courts, ICT offices to be done with chamber’s coop’

ISLAMABAD (INP) A delegation of ICCI, F-8 Courts Shifting Committee led by Khalid Chaudhry, Senior Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry called on Zulfiqar Haider, Chief Commissioner, ICT in his office and apprised him of the problems being faced by the residents and business community of F-8 Sector due to the presence of district court in F-8 Markaz. M/s. Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi Chairman Committee, Zafar Bakhtawari, Muzammil Hussain Sabri, Naeem Siddiqui, Ejaz Rafi Butt, Naeem ur Rehman Piracha and Saif ur Rehman were also present at the occasion.

Khalid Chaudhry said that F-8 Markaz is one of the major business centers of Islamabad, but presence of district courts and ICT offices in it was creating lot of problems for the residents of the area including lot of traffic rush, lack of parking facility and security issues. He said that crimes rate and car theft incidents were on the rise in the area and due to lack of transport facility, people of far flung areas were also finding it difficult to reach courts easily.

He said district court in F-8 Markaz was also creating law and order problems in this important business center and already three incidents including suicide attack have occurred in Kuchehri in which many precious lives were lost. He said the residents of the areas including the Honorable Judges and lawyers were also feeling insure. He stressed that district court and all ICT office should be shifted from F-8 Markaz and first the Tehsil Office should be shifted, which will facilitate the shifting of other offices. It will rid the people of the multiple problems and facilitate the growth of business activities as well.

Speaking at the occasion, Zulfiqar Haider, Chief Commissioner ICT assured that the issue of shifting of district court and ICT offices from F-8 Markaz will be addressed in collaboration with ICCI and it will be his first priority to resolve this problem. He said all highlighted issues will be given due consideration and all possible measures will be taken to remove the concerns of residents as well as the business community of the area.
