KARACHI, Nov 20 (INP): Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Culture and Tourism Ms Sharmila Faruqui has taken serious notice over illegal construction by land Mafia at Heritage site Lakhian Jo Daro.
She has directed commissioner Sukkur to remove encroachment and stop illegal construction and provide security to historical sites. Commissioner Sukkur took rapid action against the land grabbers and vacated the site from the possession of criminals.
She ordered Secretary Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Aijaz Memon to probe the matter and submit report as soon as possible. Aijaz Memon informed the Special Assistant that Show cause notice has been issued to Director Archeology Sindh Qasim Ali Qasim over the irregularities and delay of construction work of Boundary wall to secure the heritage site.
Sindh government is well aware about the value and importance of Historical heritage sites which are our assets, she added. She has further directed that construction work of boundary wall at Lakhian Jo Daro should be started.
