LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that his government had cancelled the Ring Road contract awarded to Kamran Kayani for his failure to honour the commitment, the Punjab Chief Minister said this while talking to a private news channel on Tuesday.
“When the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz came to power in Punjab in 2008, I found that Kamran Kayani (brother of former army chief General (retired) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani) was awarded the Ring Road construction contract by the previous government. Finding that he was not working up to the mark, I spoke to General Kayani and asked him to advise his brother to do the work according to specification. But his performance did not improve.
“I again complained to Kayani sahib, but to no avail. Then I cancelled the contract because of his failure to honour the commitment,” Shahbaz Sharif said.
