The terror attack that stuck the Shah Noorani shrine in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district is just another reminder of the daunting task ahead of the government in tackling the menace of militancy. The attack claimed nearly 52 lives with hundred’s other left injured. This is the third terror incident in Balochistan since August where the death toll has crossed 50. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was quick to link the attack to India however Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan Major Gen Sher Afgan has said that nothing could be said about those involved in perpetrating the attack before the investigation concludes. The government must take immediate steps to halt the growing acts of terror in Balochistan and if there is credible evidence against India the issue must be properly raised at relevant forums. Merely issuing condemnation statements after every attack won’t stop the terrorists.
