While displaying some sportsmanship after the loss to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final, all-arounder Shadab Khan accepted blame for the defeat. In the Sunday final versus Pakistan, Sri Lankan batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa destroyed the Pakistani bowling team and won by 23 runs. Sri Lanka has now won the Asia Cup championship six times.

Despite losing early wickets, Sri Lanka scored 170 runs while playing the toss, while Pakistan, the tournament favourites, could only muster 147 runs to attempt to chase the total. On the Pakistani team, only three players reached the double digits.

Fan berated the entire team for their bad performance, but all-rounder Shadab Khan received particular criticism for missing two opportunities to make catches. The supporters’ harsh criticism of the all-rounder left him feeling demoralised.

He quickly took to Twitter to apologise to the supporters and take ownership of the ultimate loss in response.Catching wins games. I’m sorry for the loss, and I accept responsibility. I failed my group. Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Nawaz, and the entire bowling attack were strong points for the squad, Shadab tweeted.

Mohammad Rizwan received praise from the all-arounder for his exceptional performance throughout the competition.Muhammad Rizwan struggled valiantly. The entire crew gave everything they had. I would want to congratulate Sri Lanka,” the speaker said.

Shadab’s fielding was supported by former pacer Shoaib Akhtar. Our best fielder is him. Shoaib tweeted, “Shadab Khan is just having a rough day.
