Seven suspects arrested with Rs700,000 Indian currency in Chaman

CHAMAN: The police arrested seven suspects with Indian currency during search of a vehicle here on Tuesday.

SHO City, Gul Muhammad Awan said that the police during routine checking at picket installed in front of Chaman Press Club, DC Highway signalled to stop a suspected vehicle.

He said that driver of vehicle instead of stopping tried to flee from the scene but police chased and took into custody the vehicle carrying seven persons.

During search of vehicle Indian currency worth Rs700,000 packed in plastic bags was recovered and all the accused were detained.

In the preliminary interrogation it was revealed the nabbed culprits entered into Pakistan’s territory from Afghanistan via Chaman.

Gul Muhammad said that the detainees were destined to different cities of the country.

He said that the nabbed suspects were being interrogated and important revelations were expected.
