Seven killed in two road accidents in Punjab

LAHORE/SHEIKHUPURA (INP): At least seven persons were killed and 38 others injured in two separate road accidents in Lahore and Sheikhupura on Thursday. According to police souruces, at-least four people died and 28 others sustained injuries in head-on collision between two passengers buses on Motorway near Faizpur Interchange in Lahore. The passengers were going to attend the ‘Tableegi Ijtima’ in Raiwind from Peshawar, when the accident occurred. Rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the injured passengers to Lahore’s Mayo Hospital and Jinnah Hospital.One of the drivers of a bus fled away from the spot. Passengers said that the driver lost control due to over speeding   and collided with other bus. Meanwhile, the Motorway remained closed for three hours due to which traffic was badly disrupted. In another accident in Sheikhupura, three persons were killed and ten others wounded when a van collided with a tractor trolley near Kot Abdul Malik.
