ISLAMABAD: First ever social media conference was held to provide a platform to facebook writers, bloggers to indulge in productive discussion to talk on diverse topics.
SEEK 16 social media meet up was initiated by blogger and active Facebook writer Saqib Malik under his site Archereye, who suggested that an interaction between known Facebook writers and users alongside with few mainstream media personalities is the need of hour. It was considered that it would be a positive step towards tolerance between different ideological, political minded sections of the society.
The event was held here in a private hotel, main aim of the seminar was to stir a debate on ‘Pakistan Islam and Secularism ‘also embed was a dialogue session on ‘whether Pakistan is a security state or not?’. Session allowed various speakers to give a speech on varying subjects. SEEK stated around 6 and finished at 1 o’ clock midnight. Attending participants came from various parts of Pakistan including Lahore, Multan, Dir, Gilgit, Mianwali etc. Prominent personalities along with people from all walks of life attended the conference. Main guests who participated in the conference include Asif Mahmood, editor daily the Patriot, anchor and columnist, Aamir Hashim Khakwani renowned columnist, Dr. Asim Allah Bakhsh, Prof. Fateh Muhammad Malik, Farnood Alam, Umer Cheema and others.
