RAWALPINDI: Police have finalised the security plan for by-elections in PP-7 (Taxila) and officials have been directed to remain unbiased on the said occasion.
As many as 2000 police officers and officials will perform security duty on the occasion, informed a police spokesman on yesterday.
According to him, police have made a comprehensive security plan on orders of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi for maintaining law and orders during by-polls in Taxila and other areas. He said atleast 2000 officers and officials would be deployed at 167 polling stations in Taxila and its suburbs for a peaceful ballet on 26 September. He said the polling stations have been divided into three categories including A, B and C, where in A category 38, B category 38 and C category 108. He said there will be complete ban on display or carting weapons anywhere in the area. Moreover, police including Elite Force Commandoes will also patrol in the area under supervision of senior police officers, he informed.
