RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 22 Khawarij militants in three separate operations in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while six soldiers were martyred in the exchange of fire.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 22 Khawarij militants were ‘killed to hell’ in three separate operations in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on December 6 and 7.
According to the statement, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Gul Imam area of Tank district on information about the presence of Khawarij militants and during the operation, the forces effectively targeted the enemy hideout, as a result of which 9 Khawarij militants were killed and 6 injured, who have been arrested.
The forces conducted the second operation in North Waziristan, during which 10 Khawarij militants were killed, and the third clash took place in Thal district when Khawarij militants tried to attack a security forces post.
According to the statement, 3 Khawarij were killed in the exchange of fire while 6 soldiers were martyred. The ISPR said that a clearance operation is underway in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists. Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate terrorism and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
