Second UAF student designated as Global Youth Ambassador

FAISALABAD, Sep 30 (INP): The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has earned another global distinction as its second student Anum Safdar after Rabia Faridi has been designated as global youth ambassador for education and women empowerment by United Nation – A World at School.

She is the second student of the varsity designated Global Youth Ambassador. A World at School President Sarah Brown, the spouse of former Britain Prime Minister Gordon Brown, has designated her as the global ambassador. She is doing the MSc (Hons) in the Plant Breeding and Genetics at the UAF. She is also president of Debating Club, UAF and Editor, English Section, of Kisht-e-Nau, a varsity student annual magazine, working under the umbrella of Senior Tutor Office.

Initially, Anum has started awareness campaign for education in Faisalabad District.   She vowed to take every possible step to raise the awareness among the people regarding education so that literacy rate would be enhanced. She said that it is her dream that every child is enrolled in the school. Women education and empowerment is most important for a healthy society, she added.

UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan has congratulated her for the success and hoped that UAF will continue providing leadership in every sphere of life . Senior Tutor Prof Dr Aslam Pervez said that his office makes all-out efforts to polish the skill.
