RAWALPINDI: An Officer and a soldier of Pakistan army were martyred when terrorists opened fire on an army vehicle in North Waziristan Agency on Tuesday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), militants fired on an army vehicle from surrounding mountains in North Wazirstan Agency. Resultantly, second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed and Sepoy Basharat embraced martyrdom.

21 years old Lt Abdul Moeed, who recently passed out from Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), is a resident of Burewala, Vehari whereas Sepoy Basharat, 21 years old with three years military service, belongs to village Danyor in Gilgit.

Strongly condemning the terrorist attack on military convoy in North Waziristan President Mamnoon Hussain has said that our security forces have secured the future of nation by rendering invaluable sacrifices.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi strongly condemned the terrorist attack and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah for blessing the departed souls with eternal peace.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa stated that, “Freedom isn’t free, it costs sons of the soil. Freedom that we enjoy today is owed to so many such brave hearts. Salute to our Martyrs”. The message of Army Chief was shared on Twitter by DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor.
