Date to be given in 1-month time, AG KP
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has sought report related to steps taken by Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) for holding Local Bodies’ (LB) Elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa till 30th of this month.
While hearing the holding of Local Bodies’ Elections case on Monday [October 20] in Islamabad, Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa informed the apex court that date for elections in the province will be given in one-month time.
Chief Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk who headed the three-member bench directed Election Commission to announce date for elections in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa after consulting the provincial government.
Advocate General Sindh told the Apex Court that bill for local bodies elections in Sindh will be presented in provincial assembly session on Monday.
Advocate General Punjab informed the court that provincial government has transferred the authority to finalize delimitations in the province to Election Commission.
Later the court adjourned the hearing on 30th October.
