In Saudi Arabia, it is mandatory to obtain permission from the competent authority before naming, branding and advertising your products after the names of holy cities. Otherwise, you will have to pay a heavy fine.
According to Bloomberg, Saudi Arabia has introduced new rules regarding product marketing.
Under which, products cannot be named after the names of Saudi Arabia, Mecca, Medina and other holy cities.
It will also be mandatory to obtain permission before using religious, political or military names, otherwise a fine of 1.115 million Pakistani rupees will be imposed.
A fine of more than 750,000 Pakistani rupees will also be imposed for stealing an already registered name and using it for your products.
In addition, this law also prohibits the use of names similar to local, regional or international organizations.
Similarly, the use of names similar to any government institution will also be prohibited.
Depending on the nature of the crime, these violations can result in a fine of 76,000 Pakistani rupees to 450,000 Pakistani rupees.
