KARACHI: Despite Pakistan lost the five-match ODI series against host England 4-1, wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed made his mark in the tough English conditions and was the highest run-getter in the series from either side with 300 runs.
Sarfraz had a productive series with the bat when he scored 55, 105, 38, 12 and 90 in the series which helped him move 21 places up to 39th position. Sarfraz´s 90 at brisk rate in the last match helped the visitors claim a consolation triumph.
Meanwhile, skipper Azhar Ali´s 208 runs in the series has seen him move up 15 places to 33rd rank. However, the skipper was criticized for scoring at a slow run-rate during the series.
Azhar and Sarfraz are the only two Pakistan batsmen to figure inside the top 50. The next highest Pakistan batsman is Shoaib Malik in 67th spot.
