RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif signed the death warrants of five “hardcore terrorists” here on Thursday.

In accordance with statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the convicts whose death warrants have been signed issued included perpetrators of Safoora bus attack, culprits also involved in improvised explosive device (IED) blast near Saleh Masjid Karachi, killer of a social worker Sabeen Mahmud and attacks on law enforcement agencies.

The five men to be hanged were identified as Saad Aziz, Tahir Hussain Minhas, Asad-ur-Rehman, Hafiz Nasir and Muhammad Azhar Ishrat.

The convicts admitted their offences before the trial court, added the ISPR statement.
