Islamabad: The mass scale irregularities in the joint venture agreement between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Multi-Professional Cooperative Housing Society (MPCHS) is not the only case on which action was taken by the Supreme Court of Pakistan took action after the news was reported by Sardar Khan Niazi in Daily The Patriot back in July 2009.
The Supreme Court has taken notice of irregularities reported by Sardar Khan Niazi on multiple occasions. S.K Niazi has remained steadfast in his struggle for rule of law, eliminating corruption and irregularities despite facing serious threats. On July 15, 2011 Supreme Court of Pakistan declared the E-11 joint venture between CDA and MPCHS null and void, malafide, inoperative, ineffective and non transparent. Missing persons case, Chak Shehzad Farm Houses case, corruption of former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz are just a few of the other cases on which the Supreme Court of Pakistan took notice after the cases were reported by Sardar Khan Niazi.
It is also pertinent to mention that S.K Niazi was awarded the ‘best reporting award’ by former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
The Supreme Court, Public Accounts Committee and the National Accountability Bureau have all taken notices on news reported by SK Niazi. Daily The Patriot has also been fighting against the cancer of corruption through its investigative reporting for well over a decade.
