ISLAMABAD: Jamaat e Islami Amir Siraj ul-Haq has said that federal government should not make the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) controversial. He said that PM should have consulted the opposition before leaving for United States (US). Talking to media in Islamabad Saturday after meeting Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazl ur-Rehman, JI chief said that government should work according to the declaration of the All Parties Conference (APC). He said that there are doubts in minds of many about the route of economic corridor, government should clear them as well. “Government must not step back from the economic corridor because country’s future depends on it”, said Siraj ul Haq. Answering a question about Prime Minister’s tour to United States, he said that PM did not consult opposition before the visit as they would have asked him to raise Afia Siddique’s issue with US president Obama. Maulana Fazl ur-Rehman also talked to media on this occaison and once again blamed Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan for receiving money from Jews. He said that it was known to him since long but now even Khan’s own party workers and officials are saying the same thing.INP
