RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja said that the menace of terrorism can be rooted out from the country and precious human lives can be saved if the public keep an eye on suspicious elements around them and pass the information to law enforcement agencies immediately.
He said that police along with other security agencies have been playing leading role to flush out terrorists from Pakistani soil but the public cooperation is must to get success in war against terror.
RPO expressed these views yesterday after awarding cash prize of Rs 50,000 to two citizens whose timely information led police to overwhelm terrorists of an banned outfit and recovery of explosive, arms and ammunition from their possession.
The two citizens, whose names have been kept secret due to security reasons, belonged to Chakwal.
The cash prize was announced by Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for pointing out the criminals and passing true information to the police.
RPO Wisal Fakhar appealed the citizens to remain alert and inform police if they see some suspicious and criminals around them.
