R’Pindi Health Department hires 500 workers from different Tehsils for anti polio campaign

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Health Department has hired the services of 500 Health workers of different Tehsils for anti- Polio campaign. However the Staff has not been summoned  from Texila and Gujar Khan where it is on duty to deal with anti dengue campaign as the number of  patients of the disease is on the constant rise there.

Health staff of Rawalpindi city is already under pressure to control  Dengue as Punjab Govt is highy perturbed over the increasing number of patients in the city. In view of the shortage of the staff in the city, the authorities  decided to utilize the services of medics  from other Tehsils for polio campaign in Rawalpindi.

On the advice of Provincial administration Special transport is being provided to Lady Health workers and other staff for to duty in Rawalpindi.

The department has targeted to administer anti polio drops to more  than one Lac thirty two Thousands and seven Hundred children  of less than 5 years age till 18th October.
