Roze  Lawmakers appreciate initiative, termed guideline for other TV channels

Media code of ethics launched by Roze News received unprecedented appreciations when it was presented in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

According to details, MNA Waheed Alaam Khan presented the code of ethics of Roze TV in the national assembly. Members of Parliament appreciated the initiative of Roze News for launching a comprehensive media code of ethics based on the lights of Islamic teachings and norms of our society.

Law makers were of the view that Pakistan Group of Newspapers has always provided the guidelines for the media ethics and they were lauding the efforts of Chairman of Roze News and Editor in Chief of Pakistan Group of Newspapers, Sardar Khan Niazi in this regard. Opposition Leader in the national assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah said that Roze News has taken a great initiative regarding media code of ethics. MNA Jamshed Dasti while appreciating the code of ethics said that other TV channel should also follow the footsteps of Roze TV. Balig-ur-Rehman said that Roze News has set a prime example for other TV channels to work within the boundaries allowed by our religion and society.

Sardar Awais leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in a program of Roze News ‘Analysis with Asif; said that a Member of Parliament has presented the code of ethics now it is up to all other members to implement it. Prominent journalist and Anchor at Roze News said that Roze News does not compromise the ethics for the sake of ratings. President of National Press Club Islamabad Sheyeryar Khan said that Roze News has taken a laudable step by launching media code of ethics and all the journalist community would take guideline from it.

It is pertinent to mention here that code of ethics is comprehensive in nature and journalists of South Africa also took guidelines from the Roze TV code of ethics.
