RAWALPINDI: Mohammad Rizwan (28*) and Faheem Ashraf (29) fought back as Pakistan managed to get a 200-run lead on Day 3 here at Pindi stadium.

Both the batters joined hands at the crease when Pakistan were 76-5. They both added 52 runs together for the sixth wicket before Faheem fell to George Linde on the second last over of the day. Pakistan closed Day 3 at 129-6.

Imran Butt departed for naught as Pakistan resumed their second inning with a lead of 71 runs on Day 3.

Abid Ali and Azhar Ali led the batting after they lost the first wicket and added just 27 runs together. Abid fell to Maharaj who followed Kagiso Rabada to provide the visitors a much-needed breakthrough. Rabada picked up Imran in just the fifth over.

Azhar then joined by skipper Babar Azam who got LBW off Keshav Maharaj after scoring eight runs. They scored 17 runs together before Babar got out.

Fawad Alam contributed just 13 runs before getting out in the very first ball after the last Drinks break on the third day.

Linde bagged three wickets while Maharaj and Rabada picked up two and a wicket each for South Africa.

Earlier, Hasan Ali bagged his second Test fifer as Pakistan bowled out South Africa for 201. Hasan was on the song earlier on the day as he completed his five-wicket haul.

Temba Bavuma (44*) and Wiaan Mulder (33) resisted a bit but couldn’t continue for long together. George Linde made 21 runs with the help of three boundaries and a six.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, Nauman Ali, and Faheem Ashraf were the other wicket-takers. They took a wicket each.
