ISPR press release states that the entire internal and external threat spectrum, including terrorist networks and their linkages were reviewed in a high level meeting in the headquarters of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif attended the meeting.

Special focus in the meeting was given to highlight the conspiracies of the foreign intelligence agencies and their role in spreading chaos and instability in Pakistan.

According to some reports it has been proven that terrorists receive funding from their foreign masters but they are being facilitated from within the country. It is the need of time to take stern action against the facilitators and abettors of terrorists.

To tackle the foreign funding and planning of anti-state elements, COAS put emphasize on the need to continue intelligence based operations all over the country. It is the need to time because after successful military operations terrorists are on the run and only sharp intelligence operations can break their back.

Terrorists are finding soft targets; usually public gatherings and only preemptive attacks based on intelligence information can prevent their heinous plans. Success of operation Zarb-e-Azb is evident from improved security situation of the country and sharp intelligence is required to consolidate gains from the military operations. Last major stronghold of the extremists within Pakistan has been eliminated by operation Zarb-e-Azb from North Waziristan. But a lot more needs to be done to ensure long lasting peace.

Government and entire nation stood behind its armed forces in the fight against militancy and brave son of the soil rendered great sacrifices to eliminate terrorists from our beloved country.

Preemptive attacks based on intelligence information can prevent heinous plans of terrorists.
