KARACHI: A retired major of the Pakistan Army was shot dead in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) neighbourhood on Saturday.
According to police sources, unidentified men riding a motorbike shot dead Ali Raza, a former army major in DHA’s Phase 1.The body of the deceased was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
AIG Karachi Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar told media that police are probing as to whether it is targeted killing or sectarian or robbery related incident. At present, exact motive of the murder could not be confirmed, he added.
Karachi, a city of around 20 million people and Pakistan’s financial capital has been racked in recent years by criminal, ethnic, political and religious violence.
