STOCKHOLM: Scientists have discovered a rhino preserved in Russian permafrost for more than 32,000 years with its skin and fur still intact.
The rhino died when it was about four years old, and its age has allowed scientists to learn more about endangered species, while keeping it in good condition.
Leo Dillon, a professor of evolutionary genomics at Stockholm University, said the vast majority of remains of Ice Age animals consisted of bones and teeth, with no flesh or skin or anything like that.
He further said that out of hundreds of such discoveries, one finds the remains of an extinct animal in which you encounter such a (rhinoceros) discovery.
