Refusal to administer anti-polio vaccine, 573 booked, 16 sent to jail

NOWSHERA: Cases were registered against 573 parents while 16 were sent to jail for refusing to administer anti-polio vaccine to their children in district Nowshera. Warning issued to other people reluctant to vaccinate their children.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zakaullah Khattak said that on complaints of polio immunization teams 19 cases were registered against 573 parents belonging to different areas of Nowshera district.

He said that 16 people have been sent to jail while cases against others in proceeding.

DC Zakaullah warned that those who will refuse to vaccinate their children with anti-polio vaccine will be arrested under 16MPO.

He said that parents should realize the fact that polio vaccination is aimed at saving their children of lifetime disability. It hasn’t any side affects and one should not turn ears toward the negative propaganda being hatched against anti-polio campaigns.
