Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the increase in remittances during May 2025, saying that it is evidence of the growing confidence of overseas Pakistanis in government policies.
According to Express News, the Prime Minister said in his statement that 34.9 billion US dollars were received in remittances during the current fiscal year, which is 28.8% more than the previous fiscal year.
He said that 3.7 billion US dollars were received in remittances during May 2025, which is 13.7% more than May last year.
The Prime Minister said that the increase in remittances is evidence of the growing confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the government’s economic policies, the government’s economic measures and the people-friendly budget for the next fiscal year are a sign of the country’s bright future.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the government’s economic team for receiving record remittances.
