ISLAMABAD: On the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the State Minster for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry went to the deceased child’s residence in Rawalpindi and expressed sympathy with the parents. The infant allegedly died of tear gas shelling on Friday in Rawalpindi.
The new born identified as Abu Bakar lost his life due to suffocation by tear gas, the parents claimed. He also announced Rs10 lac for the family of the deceased on behalf of the premier. The State Minister said that the protesters should not lockdown the cities endangering the lives of families living in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He reiterated that no one will be allowed to shut the capital.
The child’s father Tahir Khan said that no damage has been suffered by Imran Khan and Sheikh Raheed but his poor family suffered the tragedy.
If they want to make decisions on the roads then assemblies should be demolished and cricket ground should be made instead, he lambasted.
Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday has formed an inquiry committee over the death of infant from tear gas in Rawalpindi.
The committee will present their report to Chief Minister Punjab in 48 hours. CM Punjab while expressing grief over the incident has conveyed sympathies to the affected the family. INP
