ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has won the UN support for the cause of Kashmir, therefore, opposition should now stop their baseless propaganda and crticism on Government’s foreign policy.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Federal minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage said this while welcoming UN secretary General’s offer to mediate the Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan.
He said that it was a historic victory of present Government foreign policy and the diplomatic offensive launched by it to rally the support of International Community to highlight the Kashmir issue. It is also a testimony to the initiatives and policies of PML (N) Government in the sphere of foreign policy that international community and public opinion now recognizes Pakistan’s position on Kashmir.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that this should put to rest all those who oppose and criticize the government simply for the sake of opposition, mislead and hoodwink the people of Pakistan.
He said that Imran Khan and PPP as part of their campaign to malign PM Nawaz Sharif politicized the Kashmir issue and demoralized the people of Jammu and Kashmir who are waging a struggle for their right to self determination.
The opposition should now accept that the foreign policy of PML (N) Government is based on safeguarding and protecting the national interest including the core issue of Kashmir, the Minister emphasized.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that foreign policy is a sensitive affair and irresponsible behavior and impatience on the part of opposition may cause irreparable damage to the cause of ongoing indigenous struggle of Kashmiris for their just right to self determination.
The state craft is a serious business and opposition should show maturity while commenting on matters of foreign policy. The policies of PML (N) Government on international issues have always been consistent with national interest of Pakistan, he said.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid also urged all political parties to shun their differences and rally behind Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to demonstrate their sincerity with the just cause of Jammu and Kashmir.
