Rangers to award Rs5 lakh to informers on target killers

KARACHI (INP): Violence continued across the city on Saturday as at least four people were found dead in different areas.

 

According to police, a dead body of a man, who was kidnapped on September 22 from New Karachi, was found from F.B Area Block 16. Three people got injured in separate firing incidents in NIPA Chowrangi, Federal B and North Nazimabad areas.

 

Two bodies of man and woman were also found from a river near Keemari area of the city. A man was shot dead in a firing incident that took place in Faqeer Colony, Orangi Town

 

Meanwhile, a labourer was killed and at least 15 others injured as boiler of a factory at Habib Bank Chowrangi exploded suddenly. The rescue teams shifted the injured and dead body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Moreover, Rangers have announced a reward of Rs5 lakh to identify target killers in Sindh’s capital city Karachi.

According to a report, people can tell the names of target killers via contact on 1101.Rangers said that they will keep the name of informers secret.

A target killer, who was a member of the crime branch police, has confessed to his involvement in 10 targeted killings in Karachi.

The report of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) according to which Bilal, a policeman of the crime branch, has confessed to the murders of 10 people, Baloch Colony police had arrested the policeman.

According to the report of the investigating agencies, a 10-member gang of the accused operating in the city has been involved in targeted killings in various parts of Karachi. The accused has been a contract killer who reportedly killed people for Rs10 to 15 thousand contract money and was involved in political and sectarian killings in the city.

The accused committed murder crimes at Bahadurabad, Ferozabad, Azizabad, Korangi, Zaman Town, Orangi Town and Gulshan Iqbal areas.

Armed robbers stormed into a private bank in Saddar area of the metropolis, held security guards and staff hostage at gunpoint before walking off with $38,000 and Rs2.5 million cash on Saturday morning.

Police soon arrived at the crime scene and launched investigation into the incident. Bank’s three security guards have also been taken into custody for interrogation.
