KARACHI: At least five accused including three terrorists and two gang war criminals were killed in separate fire exchange during operation of Rangers in different areas of the metropolis on Saturday.
Spokesman of Sindh Rangers said that reacting to secret information about presence of extremists, the paramilitary troops conducted operation against outlaws in Chakiwara area of Lyari in Karachi during which exchange of fire took place. In fire exchange three terrorists wanted by the security personnel in a number of cases of murder, collecting extortion and other serious crimes were killed while some of their cohorts managed to escape.
Two gang war accused belonging to Baba Ladla group were killed in exchange of fire with Rangers during search operation in Bihar Colony of Lyari. The accused killed in the encounter were identified as Anees and Junaid. Both accused were wanted by police in 19 and five murder cases respectively.
Meanwhile, the police and Rangers during separate search operations in different localities of the metropolis including, Kharadar, Haidri, Muslim Town, Quaidabad, Muslimabad, Ferozabad, Tipu Sultan Signal, and surroundings arrested more than 30 criminals besides recovering arms and drugs from their possession. The nabbed culprits included target killers, drug peddlers and street criminals.
