ZHOB: Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, wreaking havoc in parts of Zhob city and adjacent areas. In city’s Ganj muhalla, Kharot abad, Islamyar, Mandokhail abad and other areas houses while a part of government high school in Killi Appozai also damaged. Floodwater entered houses damaging household items and other valuables and destroyed standing crops, fruit orchards and vegetables in different rural areas. The rainwater also flowed on roads as drains remained choked in low-lying areas. A government-run high school Wadh Sheikhan was under knee deep water inundates access of students.
Deputy Commissioner Nazar Muhammad Khetran visited the rain-hit areas. Chairman Municipal Committee Abdul Saleem Mandokhail, Deputy Chairman Haji Naseeb Nasar and Councilors Shah Baran Kakar and Anwer Gul accompanied him during the visit. They visited Appozai, Dairy form, Preacher masque, New Abadi, Saeed abad, Ganj muhalla, Babu muhalla and other areas. Interacting with the affectees Deputy Commissioner inquired about the prevailing situation and assured them of all required help in their hour of trial by the local administration.
“The government would make all out efforts to help the flood affectees in critical time.” Deputy Commissioner said.
The affectees have demanded of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority to declare the area flood-hit and announce financial assistance for the affectees.
