BEIJING: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif Sunday said that with nation’s support, the Army is determined to eliminate terrorism from soil.
This was stated by the Army Chief during a meeting with China’s Central Military Commission Vice Chairman General Fan Changlong in Beijing Sunday.
According to Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), General Fan described Pakistan andChina as strategic partners, important neighbours, and iron brothers.
Showing solidarity with Pakistan, Gen Fan praised Operation Zarb-e-Azb and termed it decisive, bold, and a hard blow to terrorists. He assured of full support in the operation.
The Chinese general also lauded national consensus against terrorism, and Pakistan’s resolve, efforts, and sacrifices in fighting the menace. He assured China’s full support in this mission.
Raheel Sharif stated that Pakistan and China are leading their relations on the basis of mutual cooperation and understanding.
The ISPR termed the meeting as successful as it was taken place in a friendly environment.
General Raheel Sharif vowed to eliminate terrorism from the country with the help of the nation as operation Zarb-e-Azb is indiscriminately continued in the areas of Pakistan.
General Raheel Sharif arrived in China yesterday, and is scheduled to meet China’s political and military leadership to discuss issues pertaining to security and defence cooperation between the two countries. NNI
