Radio Pakistan’s Defence Day Programmes revive memories of 1965

ISLAMABAD: A ceremony in connection with Defense of Pakistan Day was held at National Broadcasting House here on Sunday joining the nation to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the 1965 war  reviving the memories when its national songs and news broadcasts highly raised the spirit and morale of the nation against the Indian aggression.

Secretary Information Muhammad Azam, Director General Radio Pakistan Syed Muhammad Imran Gardezi, directors and staff of national broadcaster joined the nation in observance of one minute silence at 9.29 am. This was followed by playing of national anthem.

It is noteworthy that Radio Pakistan broadcast special marathon transmission, “Jan Nisaroon Ko Salam” to pay homage to valiant personnel of armed forces who dauntlessly repulsed aggression by the enemy.

The transmission was aired on medium wave, FM-93, and FM-94 etworks.

The historic role played by Radio Pakistan during 1965 war was widely acknowledged by all segments of the society particularly the electronic media and press.
