ISLAMABAD : Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that incumbent parliamentary leadership believes in consensus-based legislation to ensure parliamentary supremacy in the country. He expressed these views while chairing the maiden meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislative Business here on Friday. The foreign minister said that both treasury and the opposition benches together can ensure legislation for the benefits of the people and the country. The committee discussed the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the United Nations (Security Council) Amendment Bill 2020 in detail. Members of the committee were of the view that bills in question need further discussion; therefore, taking into account their suggestions, the committee decided to meet again on coming Monday for further discussion.
