Quetta blast leaves 27 injured, several shops, vehicles damaged

inp 24-92QUETTA: At many as 27 people were injured, several shops and vehicles damaged in a bomb blast here on Wednesday night.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Quetta, Razzaq Cheema said that the blast took place at Prince in populated Liaquat Bazaar of Quetta when explosives material planted in a motorcycle parked outside a shop went off with a big bang.
As a result of explosion 27 civilians including shopkeepers and passersby sustained wounds.
Several shops caught fire due to blast and many vehicles and motorcycles parked by the scene or passing by the scene of explosion were damaged.
Police, rescue personnel and volunteers reached the scene and started rescue operation.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta where emergency was declared to deal with the situation. According to hospital sources condition of five wounded people was serious.
No group has so far claimed responsibility of the explosion. However, insurgency-hit Balochistan province in general and its capital Quetta has been plagued by rising by separatist and sectarian violence during the recent years. INP
