ISLAMABAD: A powerful earthquake Saturday jolted parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, triggering panic in the region.
According to met office, 5.8 magnitude of the quake was recorded on the Richter Scale. It said the epicenter of the earthquake was in Hindu Kush Region of Afghanistan, with a depth of 175 Km.
The tremors were felt in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chiniot, Attock, Mandi Bahauddin, Haripur, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Swat, Malakand, Mardan, Dir, Hangu and Charsadda.
People, reciting verses of holy Quran, rushed outside their houses and offices buildings. NNI
