LAHORE: The provincial government is considering for complete ban on holding protests on Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, commonly known as The Mall, in Lahore.
In a statement from Lahore, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said that this ban will be imposed keeping in view the traffic issue and the inconvenience caused for the citizens due to these protests.
The minister’s remarks came a day after young doctors ended their sit-in protest on Mall Road after successful negotiations with the Mayo Hospital administration.
The flow of traffic on main thoroughfares in the provincial capital was greatly affected due to the demonstration, as the so-called messiahs laid siege to the Club Chowk on Mall Road for past five days.
