Punjab govt approves Rs1.32 billions for provision of water to Rawalpindities

RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has approved a remarkable amount of Rs 1.32 billion for provision of water to citizens of Rawalpindi.

Managing Director (MD) Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Raja Shaukat Mehmood has said that the approved amount will be spent on laying new sewerage lines, repairing filtration plants and other steps to improve the water supply situation. He said that Punjab government is taking all steps to resolve the problems faced by various areas of Rawalpindi for which remarkable funds have been allocated. MD WASA said that the provincial government has already given massive projects like Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC), Metro Bus Project and now more development projects are being started to facilitate the people of Rawalpindi.
