The Punjab administration, PTI, and PML-Q came to an agreement on the matter, and the Supreme Court decided Friday that the re-election for the chief minister of Punjab would take place on July 22.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) had ordered the governor to hold a new count for the position of Punjab chief minister, and the PTI had petitioned the top court to have that ruling set aside
.Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial presided over the hearing, and the bench also included Justices Ijazul Ahsan and Jamal Khan Mandokhail. PTI leader Babar Awan first came before the court before the hearing began, and PTI’s attorney participated through video link.
