RAWALPINDI (INP): Punjab government has decided to centralize the issuance of driving licenses for which training has started for the officials to be deployed at the facility.
The driving licenses would be dispatched to the applicants through courier at the residential addresses. Under the plan, driving licenses will not be printed in any district. The data of those passing the driving license would be transferred by every district to the centralized office in Lahore which is being set up under the supervision of Punjab Information Technology Board.
In the first phase, thirty eight police officials from nineteen districts including Rawalpindi have been trained.
The sources said that the centralized driving license issuing system is expected to be launched by the middle of December, 2014.
