Islamabad: Secretary General of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Salman Akram Raja has resigned from his post.
According to Express News, the nominated Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has resigned from his post. The post of PTI General Secretary is still vacant. Even after two months and twenty-one days, a new PTI General Secretary has not been appointed. Omar Ayub formally resigned from the post of General Secretary on September 7.
Salman Akram Raja was nominated to be appointed as Secretary General after the instructions of the founding chairman. He was not appointed. He was still nominated, but today he also resigned.
According to party sources, some leaders had reservations about Salman Akram Raja regarding the protest. PTI leaders also criticized Salman Akram Raja. On the other hand, Barrister Gohar has said that this is not the time for you to leave your responsibility. People will continue to criticize, but you should continue to work.
Party sources say that the matter of Salman Akram Raja’s resignation will be placed in the political committee. It should be noted that after the shortcomings in the PTI protest in Lahore were exposed and continuous criticism was received, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja resigned from his post. Salman Akram Raja was entrusted with the responsibility of taking a convoy from Lahore to Islamabad. After the road was blocked, Salman Akram Raja planned to protest in Lahore itself, while Salman Akram Raja was also unable to evacuate the workers in Lahore.
