
Haleem Adil Sheikh, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly, was detained by Anticorruption Establishment (ACE) Jamshoro officers on Wednesday in relation to a land transaction involving Malir.
After the closure of the courts, PTI attorneys assembled at the Sindh High Court’s Hyderabad circuit bench to hear a habeas corpus petition shortly after his arrest.
The petition hearing was requested for Wednesday night by PTI attorneys under the direction of retired Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi.
After Sheikh had made an appearance before ACE Jamshoro and recorded his statement, he was taken into custody. After his detention, PTI activists blocked a portion of the National HighwayHe had been called by ACE officer Zeeshan Hyder to give a statement in connection with the sale of 63 acres of public land in Thana Bula Khan at the ACE police station in Kotri.
Sheikh was granted pre-arrest bail in case No.2/22 by Special Judge Anticorruption (provincial), according to PTI activist and attorney Bhagwandas, who had requested interim pre-arrest bail for his client on July 18 in Hyderabad.
It was scheduled for confirmation on Thursday in Hyderabad. He stated that Sheikh had joined the inquiry today but had been detained in a different incident.
