PTI workers killing: Case against PM, 11 others sent to legal branch

ISLAMABAD: The case filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against 11 public figures including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on charges of killing of PTI workers at Constitution Avenue was transferred to police legal branch due to some legal complications on Monday.

The secretariat police station is delaying the registration of the case despite the court orders. According to police, some discrepancies have been recorded in the petitions filed by the PTI and the court order.

The police said that the court orders are based on the petitions as per the Section 22-A of Constitution. However, the police explained that the dissimilarities between PTI’s petition and the court order are the reason for the delay.

Therefore, the case has been sent to legal branch of police due to legal complications.  Talking to a private TV channel, SSP operations Ismatullah said that there is no pressure or hindrance from the government regarding the case registration. INP
