KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda narrowly escaped in a gun attack here on Friday.
Police said that unidentified motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire at the bulletproof vehicle of Faisal Vawda near Delhi Colony, Karachi when he on his way to home coming from NAB office.
The PTI leader remained unhurt in the attack due to bulletproof vehicle. The attackers managed to escape from the scene of the crime.
Talking to media persons Faisal Vawda said that two armed bike-riders attacked him but by the grace of Allah Almighty he survived in the attack.
The police cordoned off the area after the attack and launched a search operation but the attackers managed to escape.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and requested a report from Inspector-General Police (IGP) A.D. Khawaja.
In May 2013, PTI Vice-President Sindh chapter, Zahra Shahid Hussain, was killed in an attempted robbery incident on the eve of re-polls in Karachi’s NA-250 constituency.
