ISLAMABAD: Prolonged delay in construction of bridge at Ibne Sena Road due to negligence of Capital Development Authority (CDA) has added to the hardships of people of the federal capital.
Completion of the development work on bridge lying on Ibne Sena Road has become a challenge for CDA.
Due to hindrance in bridge’s construction, hundreds of people hailing from different sectors including sector G-9, G-10, G-10 and other sectors linking the said route had to face difficulties and they had to use to service road instead.
The affectees complaint that owing to overflow, traffic jam on service road has become the routine matter. Negligence of authorities have provided opportunity to contractor responsible for construction work on the bridge to use delaying tactics, they added.
The authority concerned despite repeated complaints was paying no heed to remove the hardships of residents of various sectors of the federal capital.
Completion of the bridge has now become challenged to CDA as resident of the surrounding areas have suffered in difficulties due to delay in the bridge.
The people expressed their concerned that they have staged several protest demonstrations demanding for completion of a small bridge but the CDA could not compete it despite many assurance given by the authority to the protesters in this regard.
This is a busy road as traffic of sectors G-9, G-10, G-11 run on the road and now the traffic of all the sectors are passing through a service road due to construction of the bridge.
The traffic jam has become routine matter on a service road causing massive wastage time of the commuter.
Patients who are visiting to PIMs hospital, school and collage going students are also facing very problems due to delay in construction of the bridge.
The people warned the CDA that further delayed in the bridge could not be tolerated. The residents of the area appealed the prime mister to take strict action against CDA over delay in construction of the bridge.
