Islamabad: Editor in Chief Pakistan Group of Newspapers and Chairman Roze News Sardar Khan Niazi Tuesday lauded the efforts and sacrifices of the country’s armed forces. Sardar Khan Niazi said that the nation is indebted to the sacrifices of armed forces that are successfully fighting militant elements throughout the country. He was addressing the opening ceremony of Spring Art Festival 2016 organized by Sadequain Art Spectrum (SAS) in collaboration with Columnists Council of Pakistan (CCP).
The Editor in Chief Pakistan Group of Newspapers while speaking on the occasion said that the government must make human development a priority. He added that infrastructure projects like the metro bus project are important but education and health sector should be government’s top priority. While highlighting the importance of quality education Sardar Khan Niazi said that merely obtaining a degree is of little value, the youth must focus its energies on the search for knowledge and added that extra-curricular activities are also of vital importance in character building of the youth.
Senior Journalist Hafiz Tahir Khalil also spoke on the occasion. Khalil said that if the 90 million youth of the country decide to spend there energies on the country’s progress then no power will be able to stop Pakistan from entering into the list of developed countries. He said that the message of peace must be promoted as it also strengthens the nation. Seconding Sardar Khan Niazi, he said that the government must focus on the education sector and particularly in backward areas like the province of Balochistan.
Senior journalist Hamid Mir while speaking on the occasion said that the youth must unite and work for the country’s betterment and progress. He said that terrorists have no religion and if the nation remains united militants will be defeated soon.
Universal Interfaith Peace Mission (UIPM) Chairman Dr Allama Abdul Fateh GR Chishti while speaking on the occasion emphasized the importance of uniform curriculum and said that the curriculum must be uniform throughout the country.
Journalist Raza Abid while speaking lauded the contribution of Sardar Khan Niazi to the field of journalism and said that his investigative reporting resulted in suo motu action by the Supreme Court on multiple occasions. At the end Mazhar Barlas presented a trophy to Sardar Khan Niazi on behalf of the organizers.
