PM, COAS to leave for Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif along with high level delegation on Monday will leave for the visit to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran to exchange views on regional and international issues.

According to details from sources, PM and COAS will meet Saudi Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Iranian President Hassan Rauhani, Purpose of the visits is to resolve the tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran which has been erupted after the execution of Saudi scholar Nimr.

Pakistan will also offer mediation between Iran and Saudi Arabia, First Pakistani delegation will visit Saudi Arabia and then on Tuesday they will visit Iranian president Hassan Rauhani.

After the meetings with both leaders PM Nawaz will take all the Muslim countries into confidence.

Nawaz Sharif and Raheel Sharif will return to Pakistan on Tuesday. The visit comes days after Saudi foreign and defence ministers visited Islamabad.
