ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif today visited the headquarters of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) along with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the Defense Minister and the chiefs of the three armed forces, where he was given a detailed briefing on the country’s security situation.
According to Express News, during this time, special attention was paid to the preparedness to deal with conventional threats in the context of India’s increasing aggression on the eastern border.
The national leadership was also briefed on the latest regional security situation, new dimensions of threats, conventional military challenges, hybrid warfare and proxy networks of terrorism.
The Prime Minister and his senior officials appreciated the effective coordination between the agencies and stressed the importance of operational preparedness at all levels so that any attack on the country’s sovereignty and integrity can be effectively and promptly responded to.
The Prime Minister praised the professionalism and strategic understanding of the ISI. He appreciated the role of the agency in protecting national interests and taking timely decisions in complex security situations.
The Prime Minister said that the entire nation stands with its brave forces, “The Pakistan Army is one of the most professional and disciplined forces in the world.”
The national leadership reiterated the resolve that Pakistan will ensure its defense against all kinds of threats.
The Prime Minister said that with the support of the people, the armed forces and state institutions are fully prepared to protect the security, dignity and sovereignty of Pakistan at all costs.
